What to Confirm Before a Prototype or Low-Volume PCBA RFQ

Prototype and low-volume PCBA projects are easier to quote when the key assumptions are visible from the start. Provide the current BOM, Gerber files, assembly drawing, target quantity, build schedule, test expectations, and any special process, coating, packing, or documentation requirements.

The BOM should identify exact MPNs, quantities, approved alternatives, and any components that are customer-supplied or especially critical. This lets the sourcing and assembly review focus on availability, package constraints, assembly capability, and schedule without relying on guesswork.

Before placing an order, confirm the final BOM revision, agreed source assumptions, assembly scope, inspection requirements, and delivery plan. Those details form the practical basis for the project quote.
