Electronic component catalogs are most useful when they support the way buyers actually search: by part number, manufacturer, product family, package, or application. A clear category path helps a procurement or engineering team narrow the relevant product group before opening the detailed MPN page.
For IC and component sourcing, categories should make it easy to distinguish controllers, analog devices, interface ICs, power semiconductors, passives, protection devices, sensors, and their subfamilies. The category is a starting point, not a substitute for verifying the exact manufacturer part number and package.
When the catalog does not show the required line, submit an RFQ with the MPN, quantity, target date, and accepted alternatives so the sourcing review can extend beyond the visible list.
